Serving Soul!

Asani

Mainstream, Underground and independent Artists

Ever since I turned 13 most of my income has been used to by music from artists, that I heard about by word of mouth, online, or by someone elses mixtapes.
Since I've finally found a community of like minded people I have a question.
Who have you listened to that set your ears on fire and that heat made tell everyone you know to buy their album? If possible please provide a link to their site so others can enjoy and buy.

Dub Ell..brother definitely has it! (http://www.myspace.com/iamwesfelton) (http://www.myspace.com/wesworks)

If you like him I'm sure you'll be able to get down with Bilal Saalam. A good combination of poetry, soul and hip hop. (http://www.myspace.com/bsalaam)

TeresaJenee - came across her music by accident while doing the Myspace rounds (http://www.myspace.com/teresajeneemusic)

Great topic. Russell Taylor's Somewhere In Between is a beast www.myspace.com/russelltaylor and there's a young lady out of Germany who is soooooo talented. She sings in English and German. Her name is Joy Denalane and here is her link www.myspace.com/joydenalanemusic

Respect,

Nigel

My three most listened-to albums of 08 so far have been:

Lamone 'Eclectically Speaking' - http://cdbaby.com/cd/lamone

Sir Wick 'Interpretations Of A Universal Language' - http://cdbaby.com/cd/sirwick

Leonard Julien 'Relections Of Soul' - http://cdbaby.com/cd/ljulien

And excuse the blatant self-publicity (not really - it's all in the interest of spreading the word on the music!) but I have a regular(ish) podcast featuring mainly quality indie soul artists which can be found on the homepage of my website http://www.soulsorts.co.uk - archive shows are also downloadable from there.

They are tremendously blessed with the music they make. The first song I heard from them was Black is. That song literaly put me back in my right frame of mind and helped me create my poem "rebirth".
