ABOUT TY G:

Tyrone Griffin also known as "Ty G" grew up in West Los Angeles where he studied music under the directive of Donald DeSimon and Mr. Larocka. Ty graduated and studied with Ed Jackson and David E. Sears. He later began employment with A&M Records where he took a job as a recording engineer. He worked under Henry Lewie, Dick Bolgert, Bruce Swedien, and Stephen Katz. He engineered on many outstanding projects, such as Joni Mitchell, Freddie Hubbard, Quincy Jones, The Brothers Johnson, Stanley Clark, and Minnie Riperton. Due to A&M's closure, Ty later went to work for Nadine's music store in Los Angeles where he became a household name in the minds of musicians locally and throughout the U.S. Later, he left the music store to go on the road with The Brothers Johnson. Ty was a Trumpet player and background Vocalist for the phenomenal group. After touring with The Brothers Johnson, Ty toured with Evelyn Champagne King as her keyboard player. He later joined the sensational group Lakeside as a keyboard player and vocalist. He toured the world with Lakeside for five years. Meanwhile, touring with Lakeside, Ty recorded sessions with Rick James on the smash hit "Give It To Me Baby", Teena Marie, Jermaine Stewart, Richard Tee, Eric Benet, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Jon B, Dr. Dre, The Dogg Pound, Immature, Brandy, DJ Quick, The Gap Band, Penny Ford, Philip Bailey, Pretty in Pink, Shanice Wilson and Boss Skank. Also, Ty entertained on various television shows, such as, Melrose Place, Vibe, The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show, Soul Train, Donnie and Marie, Howie Mandel, The Apollo, The Magic Hour, The View, BET, Sound Stage, Motown Live, Saturday Night Special and The Midnight Special which all proved to be a success. Ty has also toured with Raphael Saadiq, Teena Marie, and LTD. He also formed his own band known as The Hollywood All-Stars. Ty and Jon B formed a band known as Jack Herrera. Ty has recently signed with an up and coming independent label, Off Balance Entertainment and has recored his first solo album "Fire Storm". Ty G's solo album is a compliation of numerous rhythms & stylings. His album is a mixture of Jazz, Hip Hop, Adult Contemporary, Pop and various shades of R&B. Ty G's music is great for various age groups. His album is perfect for driving up & down the coastline as the breeze whistles over your convertable on a bright sunny day or just kick back and spiritually enjoy the music

Early talks about the possibilities of recording a brand new project began as far back as April 2007. Ty G. & longtime friend/brother: "bZo!" sat down & discussed in great lengths long & short term perspectives of what could & would be in regards to any particular timelines. As anyone who's in this 'business' called 'music' knows...timing is e'vrything!
Both myself & Ty had prior contractual commitments & family obligations that didn't allow us to pursue this venture right away, but that didn't stop us from creating ideas for this project while other interests kept us away from each other. Another little dilemma we were facing also... should we record this project through a major outlet that we had at the time or...pursue a more independent route. Well, fortunately, that problem was resolved for us in the personal invitation of our recording home's CEO: "Robert T-Bob Fortune", So it was set, after a year & some change of delays, detours, creativity, brain-storming...January of this year...2009 Ty & I began this journey we both affectionately call "FIRE STORM"

This album is a true & sincere labor of love for all parties involved!
Ten songs of Blood, Sweat, & Tears went into the components of making this awesome sonic achievement.

This CD/Album is now digitally available on iTunes! Although this CD would make a wonderful gift for anyone year-round, I feel it's right on time for the seasonal holidays that are upon us! So, in other words...please,please support "US" & this beautiful product by purchasing it. I promise U with all that is near & dear to my heart...U will NOT be disappointed! There's a song on the CD called: "CITY OF ANGELS" that has healing properties embedded in it! And I am not just saying this because I co-wrote it either!
I tell people all the time, when in composition mode, I can usually tell U 'evry step that I've taken to putting a song together. Like what came first, melody or music. With this particular song...I believe that I was in my most meditative state ever. So in this way, I feel that I was then channeling a spirit, an energy if U will. GOD, in fact was @ work here! I was a mere vessel on this venture.

I am still feel'n & reel'n from all of the various 'friends' & 'loved ones' that came out 2 support me & TY G. & our band! It was indeed a pleasure & an honor to perform 4 U all. But, more importantly it was a blast & a natural high to see, re-connect, personally meet, & embrace U one & all! THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A "COMING OUT MOMENT" FOR ME IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE! IF I CAN ENCOURAGE & INSPIRE U...MY PEEPS, MY FAMILY IN ANY WAY...IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT ME USING MY OWN LIFE & STRUGGLES AS AN EXAMPLE! Gonna take tha weekend off & relax & reflect. This past week alone was a difficult one indeed...both physically & emotionally! There were a couple of 'Red Flag' moments that have coz'd me 2 question an association w/someone close! But "Tha Truth" iz like dirty laundry...it'll all come out in tha' rinse!
