- Claudette Monet is an absolutely gifted songstress whose incredible vocal range is reminiscent of R&B legends Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle and Aretha Franklin. Her soulful, sultry melodies command attention and captivate audiences everywhere she performs. She is a beautiful and engaging woman who is undeniably charismatic, yet equally down to earth. While her alluring presence is a strong magnet that draws people to her; without question, it is her phenomenal talent that demands they stay and listen for a while. Indeed, she has emerged as a hot, upcoming artist whose extraordinary gift is destined to catapult her to stardom. Claudette is very passionate about her music. She has been singing since the age of eight and her musical influences are many and span the musical spectrums of R&B, rock, soul, funk, jazz and gospel. Among the industry giants that have given her inspiration are Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Tina Marie, Prince and Rick James. Born in the Florida panhandle, Monet is the daughter of a Baptist preacher and a spirit-filled mother who recognized her exceptional vocal ability at an early age and motivated her daughter to sing. She won beauty pageants singing and playing the flute. While attending high school she was in the music guild and in college she was a cheerleader and a member of the college choir. Claudette attended Florida State University and it is at this juncture in her life that her musical career took wings. Her musical legacy began when she performed with the groups Simply Divine, Poise and SHE. Early on she was also lead singer for the North Florida Sentinels and background vocalist for recording artists. After those musical experiences, She was a successful print model with appearances in magazines as Sophisticates, Salon Profile and Shop Talk. Her love for music drew her to Miami where she recorded with the group Brown Sugar. After Miami, she returned to DC where she has become an underground soulstress, pleasing crowds with her angelic voice and artistic style. Currently, this multi-faceted performer is in high demand and frequently graces the stages of numerous many venues while presently recording her own music with a soulful but edgy sound.
