Jéliq: MuTelligence – Only For Those Who Get It

Just like Tina Turner was feeling jazzy one day, called up India.Arie, who put the blues to her Neosoul while Bob Marley’s Wailers sang back-up. Sometimes the gentle touch of Corinne Bailey…Sometimes the rawness of Amy Winehouse. Such is the phrase that would capture the style of Jeliq. Backed by a diverse selection of highly skilled musicians, Jeliq has opened for the successful Regional group called Marcel & the Truth and is slated to perform at the 2008 AFR’AM Festival. Jeliq was also one of a few select performers for the 2008 Baltimore Natural Hair Expo. She has been featured at Milton’s Bar & Grill in Baltimore, the Pfish Tea in Washington, DC and LaTamarinda in Silver Spring. Furthermore, she has opened the show for the Annual African Ball. In addition, she is a favored repeat-performer at Towson University’s various events such as "Explosion," and PANZI Fundraiser.

A native of Uganda and proud to call Baltimore her 2nd home, Jeliq is a Morgan State University graduate who embodies both professionalism and reliability. In it, she showcases her mastery of diverse instrumentation, successfully and creatively blending jazz, hip-hop, reggae and blues, grounded by strong vocals and lively harmonies.
