About yourself
I am a spiritually attuned father, husband , musician, emcee, poet, thinker, friend and lover of all things SOUL. In the near future, you're going to see a whole lot of me...shucking and jiving not included.

Attention All Emcees, Lyricists, Poets, Orators, Oracles,
songwriters and would be next big things
according to conventional music business wisdom
we should be penning simplistic nonsense
consciousness is dead
and industry trends dictate that
she should be on the corner
and I
should be a drug runner
cuz in order to achieve any real level of success in this industry
one must remember this one simple sentence
sex and criminality sell records
don’t get it twisted
there is an air of celebration
whenever a major record label’s
best pet rapper gets in trouble with the law
their board of directors sits and watches the courtroom drama
in anticipation of larger stock options
golfing on Oahu
and yachting off of Martha’s Vineyard
see
they know that the American public loves the sight and smell of blood
almost as much as they love the firearms they use to get at it
and their shareholders can relax in the fact that
as long as there’s poverty envy lust and greed in the inner city
it will be consistently simple to enlist the services of
dependable minstrels with no sense of history or contrition
grinning sycophants willing to do anything to gain or maintain attention
the main way they stay paid
is establishing draconian recording contracts with
magnificent niggers and big booty bitches for whom platinum is the way
regardless of the means
regardless of the aftermath their actions will achieve
and in the unlikely event that one of them begins to disbelieve
the shareholders can still remain at ease
knowing they can always go and craft a new devoted Golden calf to lead the sheep

to slaughter

see contrary to popular belief
most of these so called hot artists
are nothing more than common commodities
pop chart carbon copies
swapped and branded
bartered bought and handed-hand-to-hand
like inanimate objects
they may play brazen on TV
but they really ain’t the ones pimpin the hardest
and though they may seem obscenely paid
one thing they ain’t
is free

or honest

these so called artists may be quick to cast conceit with classist speech
but they’re actually fast asleep and past the brink of sanity
and white men with white masks
just sit back and laugh until they’re pink
to think
these kaffer bastards actually believe
the self defeating things they rap and dance and sing
but hey
they can afford to giggle at this senseless shit cuz
they aren’t part of the targeted demographic
we are
we’re the ones that smell the liquor tainted breath of rage filled assassins
igniting diamond crucifixes in the twilight of our innocence
we are the hardest hit
calling on God from the bottom of the darkest abysses
the population constantly bombarded with
the narcotic compositions penned by these con artists
we’re the ones
having to comfort our daughters when a song calls her a bitch
the ones having to stop our sons from coming up under the impression
that peddling crack and guns is the only way for us to get rich
we’re the ones
having to shield our children’s ears from these sadistic apostles scribbling wicked epistles and whispering psalms in honor of Willie Lynch
we’re the ones
struggling not to believe the content of a product generated by an industry implicitly intending to eviscerate us mentally and physically
consistently having to hear venomous lyrics dribbling from the chapped lips of
hapless black bucks happily tap dancing in the master’s kitchen
rappin for the scraps he’ll give and peeling caps to capture mass appeal
Judases penning sadomasochistic affidavits outlining
lascivious trysts with that last black bitch
if only to get that last black Bent
he saw at that dealership that one time, you know
the one with the black rims and crimson interior

no wonder so many of our kids feel so inferior

consider how you’d feel if this was all you’d hear when you
were coming up
what image of adulthood would you have developed
if a large percentage of your role models exemplified
diamond encrusted style and no substance
seriously
take a second to reminisce

now imagine replacing
Big Daddy Kane with Little Wayne
Chuck D with Young Jeezy or
Slick Rick with 50 Cent

when it comes to cultural subterfuge in particular
statistics are multi-dimensional
in other words
we become what we consume
when used by the establishment
art becomes a conduit for propaganda
and a tool
for population control
music is indeed the weapon
so the question is
what are we fighting for
what price our souls
how much passion can we manage to pack into our shows
how committed to uplifting the afflicted are we or
are we just here to entertain
it is my hope and prayer that
when all is said and done
it can be said of us
that we were incorruptible
cuz as for myself
my intentions render me infinite
independent of what’s reflected in the bank
make no mistake
I too wanna be rich and famous
but I’d rather be an unsung hero
than a celebrated slave
in the end
my essence is limitless
so their payments won’t equate
my soul is socialist
you take a guess who’s head of state
