- Ronnie is a Native of Nashville, Tennessee. He is a musician, songwritter and singer. He plays drums, keyboard, and a little bass. He's been playing music for many years. Ronnie is also a husband and father of three wonderful children. Ronnie is here to network with other musicians, singers, artist, and others in the business of music.
Accomplishments:
Ronnie recorded his first album in 1986. The hit single “ Your Love Is My Fantasy” was played in many states throughout the country. On that particular single, Ronnie wrote the lyrics and music as well as played all the instruments on the album. This album opened many doors across the country. Being a singer and a musician, gave him the chance to play with, or sing with, or open up for many entertainers such as:
*R&B artist : The Manhattans, Dennis Edwards from the Temptations, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Glen Jones, After 7, Angela Winbush, Jesse Powell, Urban Mystic, Phil Perry, and many more, as well as:
*Jazz artist: Pieces of a dream, Jeff Lober, Joe Johnson, Michael Fair, Roc Williams, and recently, Boney James.
*Gospel greats: Kirk Franklin, Beverly Crawford, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Debbie and Angie Winans, Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Shirley Caesar, Rance Allen, Andre Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Darryl Corley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Commissioned, Albertina Walker, and many others.
*Country Artist: Barbara Mandrel, and Pam Tillis. Elvis West, and Billy Ray Cyrus.
*Pop Artist: Marcus Hummon, Barry Manilow, and James Slater.
Acting debut:
In 2002, Ronnie had a chance to perform in a Broadway play entitled
“The American Duet” which was written by Marcus Hummon. In the play,
Ronnie played drums, keyboards, and acted as a street hustler.
Recording:
Ronnie has sung and played on many CD’s with various artist and churches. He played drums and sung on a CD released by “The Temple Church” starring famous country artist, “Miss Barbara Mandrel”. Ronnie released a single CD, entitled “ Eternally Yours”. This track CD does not show the totality of Ronnie’s singing ability. It shows just enough to have one asking for encore! His style is unique and in demand. Ronnie has been compared to other artist such as: Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, and Brian Mcknight. Ronnie is now working on a praise and worship project to be released soon.
Reaching Back:
Ronnie truly believes that God blesses us, so we can bless others. Ronnie went back to his neighborhood to put on concerts and minister to the youth. He started his on company called “Yates Productions Inc.” to reach the young people who are just starting in the music industry. He teaches them the positive and the negative side of the music industry to prepare them for their future in music. He works hard to promote positive lyrics and positive attitudes to help them reach their goals in the industry.
