About yourself

I am an energetic optimistic person who has been passionate about music all my life.I was a teen DJ in high school and was one of the first to make and sell specialty tapes ( they were not called mixed tapes back then ,lol ) In college I worked @ college radio . After graduating college i worked in record retail , then became the buyer for at the time of the most influential outlets on the east coast-Titus Oaks -which evolved into cd-one stop. Took a pause from the music business for a bit , got my graduate degree then jumped back in a several years ago.with no regrets.
Despite the major negative changes that have happened in the last couple of years , chain and retail outlets closing , massive layoffs , confusing mergers, and mainstream media being so limited . The internet has opened the door for creativity and has leveled the playing field to a certain extent. Recently many doors have been closed , but if we look hard enough , we will find that just as many are opening like Soul Commune. We currently represent MAYA AZUCENA , DJ SPINNA , MONET and ANGELA JOHNSON . We also are consultants for GORDON CHAMBERS internationally .
Recently , we have begun to promote events including concerts featuring FRANK MCCOMBS, MYOSHI MARILLA , SOUL CYLCLE , MELISSA YOUNG , MADAFI , CLAUDE GOMIS and the 25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION for BARRY EASTMOND which featured FREDDIE JACKSON , ELISABETH WITHERS, KENNY LATIMORE and GORDON CHAMBERS.
We have also started NU- SOUL SATURDAYS @ FRANKS LOUNGE in BROOKLYN .
Upcoming artists include APRIL HILL , MARLON SAUNDERS, TRICIA ANGUS and HESTON.
