Tarrah Reynolds started her classical violin studies at seven and made her solo debut with a major symphony orchestra at the young age of twelve. She was a competitor during her youth and received many top awards in local and national competitions. Tarrah was accepted into The Juilliard School's Undergraduate Program at the age of seventeen. She has been successful as a violinist in the classical field, but has also worked with artists such as Maxwell, Kanye West, Jay-Z, the Gorillaz, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, El DeBarge, Oleta Adams, Lalah Hathaway, Donnie McClurkin, and The Clark Sisters. She has also played with popular underground artists Imani Uzuri, Blitz The Ambassador, Si*Se, Digg Deep, Tortured Soul, Monet and Tamar-Kali. After being exposed to so many different musical styles throughout the years, Tarrah became interested in singing and writing her own music. She bought her first guitar at The Goodwill in 1999 and started teaching herself. It wasn't until the summer of 2005 that Tarrah finally forced herself to play the open mic which jump started her singer-songwriter career. She has been told she is in a genre all by herself, but she has often been compared to Joni Mitchell due to her use of alternate tunings and finger-picking style.
Tarrah resides in Brooklyn, NY. She performs extensively throughout Brooklyn and the entire New York City area.
