Songwriter Sessions III

Songwriter Sessions is a monthly live event dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the professional and amateur songwriter in various genres, and includes feature artists, live bands and an open mic. A night especially for the writer of words and sounds.

Rising Soul Productions will host their third event dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the songwriter on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at R Bar (218 Bowery) in New York City. The night will include feature Eclectic Soul artists, live bands, and an open mic. Tickets will be available at the door for ten dollars and feature artists will take the stage promptly at 8:00pm.

The event was created for artists and musicians to come out and share their original material, jam with each other, and network to cultivate artistic collaborations. Songwriter Sessions fills a gap in the New York City music scene by providing an authentic space for unsigned and independent songwriting artists and musicians of any genre to meet other like-minded individuals, generate support systems and expand their fan base. Songwriter Sessions formats each show to mix styles to encourage uniting different music scenes and people.

This edition will also serve as the official release event of Sabrina/Giorgio’s debut EP, Just Soul. The seven track EP was produced by Trevor P. Allen of Groov-A-Toon Productions and includes musical contributions by some of New York City’s top musicians: Steve “Anthony” Belvilus, James Spears, Trevor Allen, Dean James and eZra Brown. Just Soul is available online for download at Digstation.com for $5.50 and you can purchase the physical CD at their local shows for $6 but you can get the physical CD for only $5 on the night of the release event.

The event was created by NYU Music Business graduate and singer/songwriter Sabrina Clery through her company, Rising Soul Productions. Sabrina, a former marketing specialist for VIBE Media Group, was the brand manager for VIBE’s monthly live showcase, VSessions LIVE!, and created this event to cater to unsigned and independent songwriters. Clery states, “As a singer/songwriter, I wanted to do my part to support other creative, authentic artists who have limited venues to share their unique expressions.”
